Prelims are over, 'O' level awaits
Wee! Prelims are over. Today's last paper was Science and POA paper 1. Unfortunately, Monday is still a normal school day. However, i can breath a sigh of relief that prelims are over and i can relax a bit for these few weeks.
I'm not that concern regarding the results as i'm not aiming to go to Junior College. Usually the prelims is a benchmark for the 'O' Levels, and the result is used for the 3 months JC admission. Anyways, a brief summary regarding prelims.
English - Paper 2 might be my downfall, so i'm hoping for paper 1 to improve my marks.
Maths - Carelessness will definitely pull down my marks for paper 1, paper 2 was alright considering the fact that it was rather difficult.
Humanities - Social studies is basically propaganda in a form of textbook. Hate Social Studies, hoping to scrap through. Geography may pass.
Principles of account - My weakest link
Design and technology - Theory may fail, but practical will help me pass.
Science - Physics too many careless mistakes, strangely my chemistry might be better.

When different isn't actually different
Let's go back
Back to the beginning
Let the rain fall down
And wake my dreams
I'm shedding
Shedding every color
Trying to find a pigment of truth
Beneath my skin
Cause different
Doesn't feel so different
And going out is better
Than staying in
Okay, i may be posting a bit too much poems recently but its the only thing i'm doing nowadays besides studying. I myself find it a bit strange since i gave up writing poems for two years and now here i am writing poems during my free time. I guess listening to music or daydreaming is no longer enough during my spare time. I just had to put my thoughts into words and what better to do that by posting it on my blog...

Everybody hurts
When the day is long and the night,
the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on.
Don't let yourself go,
everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes
Sometimes everything is wrong..
When your day is night alone,
Hold on if you feel like letting go
When you think you've had too much of this life,
well hang on'Cause everybody hurts.
Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts.
If you feel like you're alone,
If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on
Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries so, hold on
Everybody hurts.
You are not alone

Mirror image of my sister
My sister's graduation night was held at Singapore Polytechnic 3 days ago. My family now are in the living room, reliving the event which was video taped by my father. Congrats to her for achieving 3 awards in total. My parents were there, but not me because i can't imagine being in an auditorium full of girls and i as the only teenage boy. No way... So anyways, my sister won the award for leadership and something else. The one i'm sure about was she won the SAC paegent award for her class. Well, not a bad pick considering the girls in her class didn't put up much of a competition i have to say. Its clearly she is the outright winner.
The leadership award is regarding her duties as a student councillor. Mind you that she is the vice-president of the student councillor. Just the direct opposite of me. She is the follower of school rules, making sure that the rules are followed by her fellow peers while i am the breaker of school rules. Wearing shoes that are inappropriate by school rules (Even coloured PVC shoes is not allowed!) and many more.
As i heared her testimonial, i was left wondering just who in the right mind wrote it. It says CLEARLY in her testimonial that she is responsible.
Responsible? Not from my eyes. I ask her to buy for me a blue pen, pilot 0.5. She ended up buying for me black pen and from a different brand. Her excuse, the pen that i wanted was out of stock. Considering the fact that there is a tiny device called a handphone in her pocket, i wonder what type of responsibility are they referring to. Not to mention the countless times she refused to tend to my little brother.
The other thing that kept me wondering about her testimonial is that they describe her as being a leader with common sense. Hmm, i have been living with her for all my life and i can assure you that she does not have common sense. Okay, she may be responsible in her own way like doing duties, following the school rules and doing homework. But she has common sense? That is the one thing that i cannot accept. Are all SAC students and teachers blind, deaf or ignorant?
If an answer to a question is given to her infront of her eyes, she still won't find the answer unless being told about it. If the floor is wet and she fell down, she will ask anyone near why is the floor wet? It's like if i were to count the number of 'duh' that i say in my head for every questions she ask, i will be a millionaire.
Call it jealousy or whatever you want, but my sister does not have common sense. That is the one thing that she does not have in her long list of positive values. Responsibilty, Single-Minded, passionate, compassion and etc, i will agree that she is all that. But never common sense. Till today, i still cannot see a tinge of common sense in her.
All in all, want to wish her congratulation with her achievements. She should be honoured that i dedicated one post just for her, hehe. Just kidding!

Sweet dreams
This is the time
When you need a friend
You just need someone near
I'm not looking forward to
The night I'll spend thinking of you
When you're not here
How many times will I think
About the things I'd like to do
Always denied the right
To live my life the way I want
I want to share it with you
Sleep, like a child
Resting deep
You don't know what you give me
I keep
For these moments alone
There's no time to tell you
Half the things that I should
Close you're eyes
I want to see you tonight
In my sweet dreams

destiny
Life has its way with us. The decisions we made, and the sacrifices we take is what separates our own personal life from others. No two people share the same life, there is bound to be a difference between us. Some people say that our life is pre-destined since the day we were born. In my opinion, i think its just a load of crap.
I just can't seem to comprehend the meaning of destiny. If our life is determine by destiny and no matter what we do, we can't change it, then why bother live life?
Tsk tsk tsk, you just never cease to amaze me.
I admit, that question sets me thinking. Yeah, life for me sure has its ups and downs. I certainly had more than my fair share of it. I guess destiny isn't true. I mean there is no point in living life if our life has already been set by destiny. I might be destined to be someone, or maybe no one. If i were destined to be the latter, then no matter what i do, i just can't escape destiny right?
I always believed life is a mystery, and what we do now in life will shape our future. Decisions play an important role in our life. Whatever decisions we made, may it be for the better or worse, we have to live with the consequences.

Stars
Even the stars are different
Stars are stars, how can they be different?
Trust me, there can be a difference
Here I am once again, doing what my heart doesn't want to face
Cause I can't see, I can't feel
What I need to feel...
How many times have I gone through this process?
Thinking that she's the star of the world...
Many girls are like her
Exact in beauty
Exact in movement...
But not in personality...

Perfection
What is perfection, really?
Is it so impossible to achieve?
Someone once said, "I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection...," but he knew this day, he did not want greatness.
He did not aim for excellence. And at the same time, he would achieve the simplest form of perfection.

Clean Clean Clean
Students of my age at this point of time are supposed to be busy with their studies. Flipping through their textbook and revising mathematical formula. I plan to revise, however it turns out to be one of those plans which you just can seem to fulfil no matter how much effort you put in trying to make it happen. Well, probably my effort wasn't that much but atleast i tried. What can you expect from a lazy bum like me?
So instead of studying, i ended up cleaning the entire house. I was forced by my mom, since i was just lazing around in my room, playing games and watching television. Took out the vacuum, and started to clean my room first, followed by my parents and then the entire house. Proud to say, my room is squeaky clean after the clean up. I can't say about the rest of the house though, but they are in acceptable condition.
Tomorrow prelims will be my science practical. Only downside is, i will be among the students scheduled in the first shift. After my shift is over, i will have to wait for the second shift to finish only then i can go home. That means an hour and a half of spare time being spent in the library. Which can time well spent if you will revise your work for the next paper which is on Thursday. But no, i'm not going to revise Social Studies. I got my study plan worked out. So i'm going to stick with it and not listen to others who will definitely pester me to study everytime. There is only that much i can take from studying, and if the limit exceeds, i might just give up and let go of everything.
A few of my friends are starting to feel the pressure and stress already. Someone in particular is Mardhiah. We chatted on the phone in the afternoon. It seems she does not have a condusive environment to study. I understand her situation. Trying to study in the room and then your sister disrupts your concentration, your mom wants you to do some miscellaneous stuffs. It can really be annoying. I told her to just relax. No point getting temperamental because of the smallest of things. She study hard, real hard. Even harder than me. But she just fail to realise that studying hard will lead to nowhere. At the most, you just reassure your parents that you are studying. While in fact, nothing gets in your head and you will still be left clueless regarding the topic.
So yeah, that's about it i guess. I will keep posting regarding the latest events in my life, as i'm quite sure that's the function of a blog.

100th post!
Summary of today's event.
-Was rudely awakened by my brother, who switch on the television in my room while i was sleeping. Apparently, the television in the living room is being used by my sister.
-Spent the whole day at home.
-Watched S.W.A.T on HBO and The Parent Trap on Star Movies. Both movies last about 4 hours.
-Spent the remaining of the day playing XBOX and chatting on MSN.
I was actually supposed to study today, but i decided to take a break. Although prelims has begun and Monday paper is Practical Science, i just want to lay back and practically do nothing. Watch as the countless number of cars drive through my window. People living nearby being busy with their daily chores. Children playing in the playground.
For the first time in my life, i notice that if i take a while and just stop whatever i'm doing, i can see everything that is going on around me. The people, environment and even the birds. I was thinking of going to the beach today but i was too lazy to go out. I like going to the beach, the serenity and the sands. Usually, when i go to the beach, i would wear an extra short so that i can sit at the shore while the waves came rushing on me. The water touching my legs, the sand shifting and pieces of seashells scattered around the beach. And last but not least, the sound of the waves.

English Prelims
I breath a sigh of relief as my English Paper 1 ended. Frankly, i did quite okay for my Composition and article writing. I could have write better though but for now, i'm contented with my work today. The article writing is about 'Celebrating Singapore's 40th Anniversary'. I was supposed to write about the different lifestyle in the past and present, and reflect about the lessons that we can learn during the Japanese Occupation. The question was typically hard, as expected for an 'O' Level prelim.
My composition, i choose question 4: Write about a trip which has a profound effect on you and it changed your perspective in life.
I wrote about me going to Thailand on vacation with my family. Then, while roaming the streets of Thailand, i saw groups of children dressed in tattered clothes begging for money by the roadside. Then i wrote about prostitutes standing by lampost or at the side of buildings looking for customers and a boy buying drugs from an adult. All these change my perspective in life as i felt more appreciative for my parents upbringing and never did i feel uncontented with the luxuries of life again. That's basically it, of course i did some furthur elaboration but i'm not going to write it here. I might end up writing the whole composition.
Today after prelims, went home with Tassha. We sat under her block for a while, chatting about many things. Then, i made my way to the mosque for friday prayers before going home. Tuition today was fun. When i reachedthere, my sis and Aisha had arrived earlier. Aisha brought her dolphin stress relief which i find very cute. Unfortunately, while i was happily squeezing her stress relief, i accidentally tear off the dolphin's mouth. Tsk tsk tsk. Of course she was shocked when she saw the stress relief torn, and i apologise to her. Luckily she was not angry with me, but instead, we laughed together. Turns out, i was not the only one that tore her stress relief today as some of the girls accidentally tore the fin. Had a great time today for tuition.
In the end, we joked and talked about stuffs. One thing i realised today is how the small things in life can make a huge impact on us, even if it might be silly at times.

A new skin...
As you all can see, i just uploaded a new skin for my blog! Yeah i felt that my blog needed a new skin since i have been using the 'My Life' skin since ages ago. It took me quite a while trying to pick a new skin which is nicer than the previous skin and i hope the current skin will be able to entice readers out there.
Anyways, tomorrow will the start of my prelims. Yup yup, i'm a bit nervous but that's just normal. My parents expects me to get atleast a B3 for English so we'll just see how it goes. Keeping my fingers cross for tomorrow.
Plus, i would like to take this opportunity to wish good luck to all the 'O' Level candidates for their prelims. Take the prelim as a step towards the 'O' Levels.
Wake me up when september ends
Wake me up when September ends-Green DaySummer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends
Like my fathers come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when september ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when september ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when september ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when september ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when september ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when september ends
Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when september ends
Wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

Highlights for today...
Nothing much happen in school, except for Mr Barton wonderful seminar during consultation period. Only one word can describe him, amazing. He can entertain us students, who has gone through a day of school and feeling rather sleepy, and make us understand what he is trying to teach. I did not realise that English can be that much fun although it was like an hour and a half. Sufian got to be the centre of his jokes. I especially like the part when he did the magic trick, the 3 card switch. That was really funny!
Today tuition ended quite early. I was there only for about an hour. But in one hour, i managed to finish 6 question of Maths paper 2. Then Cik Mah gave me a whole stack of notes for Chemistry, Qualitative Analysis. I'm now forced to memorise 4 pages of it by tonight, by hook or by crook.
A piece of good news, my English group are poised to win! Yup, i'm really excited about it. We now lead the class by over 200 points, thus it seems impossible for the nearest group to catch up with us. Considering the fact that the last points will be from the English Prelims, i'm pretty sure we will win it. That means my group won't have to pay a cent for the class chalet that's going to be held later in the year. Probably after the Graduation Night. ~Wee~ I'm quite excited about it. Another event to look forward too once the 'O' Levels are over!

QUesTionS..
There are many unfathomable questions in this world. Like, what came first, the chicken or the egg? What is the meaning of life? If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Is a zebra white with black stripes, or black with white stripes?

Last term of school
My entry today will not be poems nor short quotes. Instead, it will be written in simple English so that Nadiah will be able to understand the gist of it.
September holidays are over and exam period has started. Prelims starts today, with 'a not so important paper', CME. I wonder why the school still regard CME as a prelim subject? It's not going to be tested in the 'O' levels. Anyways, CME paper was a breeze. It was very easy, guaranteed atleast 30 marks out of 40. Really, CME is just a waste of time. Maybe the school set the paper as a moral booster to the students, what good it does to them im not that sure myself.
School was cool today. The sun was not shining brightly, which means no hot and humid weather. Instead, it was very cloudy and windy. Early in the morning, Ms Yong practically made a big fuss of all the books that was not yet brought back home. Poor Kenny had to throw all the books since Ashaari did not come to school today.
Speaking of the devil, i heard from Raziz that Ashaari will not come to school unless his D&T Folio is completed. From his absence, i gather that it is not complete. However, he came to school in the afternoon to pass up his folio since today is the dateline for D&T students. Gladly, i finished my on time.
At around 2.30pm, i and Raziz proceed to pass up our folio to Mr Yeo. We both had to do some last minute ammendments to our folio and we manage to complete it by 3pm. Supposedly, we had Chemistry consultation period with Mdm Poh today from 3-4pm. We skipped her lesson to have lunch at stall No.1, Roti John Extra Cheese! Yum2...
After eating, we hand in our folio. Raziz went back home while i was on the way to tuition. During the journey, my mind was relieved upon realising that my folio is no longer with me and i can breath a sigh of relief. For this particular day, i looked forward to tuition. However, i was let down by the fact that tuition was cancellled. Cik Mah was sick, oh i hope she gets well soon. The part that irritates me was, i need to go back home from Tampines to Seng Kang. I travel from Pasir Ris to Tampines for tuition, only to learn that tuition was cancelled, and then i had to go back to Seng Kang. Worst of all, it rain while i was on the way home.
Guess there will always be a downfall to an almost particular day for me. Well, guess i better start revising my Social Studies. Will keep posting during my free time.

Feels just like falling for the first time
Anyone perfect must be lying; anything easy has its cost,
Anyone plain can be lovely; anyone loved can be lost,
What if I lost my direction? What if I lost sense of time?
What if I nursed this infection? Maybe the worst is behind,
It feels just like I'm falling for the first time.
I'm so chill, no wonder it's freezing,
I'm so still, I just can't keep my fingers out of anything,
I'm so thrilled to finally be failing,
I'm so done, turn me over cause it,
Feels just like I'm falling for the first time,
Feels just like I'm falling for the first time.

Update..
A lot has been going on recently so i'm just going to summarise a few of them and leave out one or two for privacy sake.
Today had POA lesson. It was boring as usual. I pity my classmates who turned up on time for the lesson. I came late, well not purposely but intentionally. I can't stand having POA lesson from 8am-11.30am. That's 3 1/2 hrs of POA with Mdm Leow. No doubt that she teach very well but sitting in class for 3 hrs plus studying the same subject is just too much for me. Which is why i came at around 9am, thus i can pay attention in class without falling asleep halfway through her lesson.
Tuition has always been fun as usual. Been getting the hang of going to tuition everyday without feeling tired at night, although in the morning at school i will be sleeping my heads off on the table. This week is a holiday but still tuition goes on as per normal. Right now, we are just doing papers and more papers from other schools. Yea i'm getting a bit stressed out, always doing some maths problems or chemistry questions. Besides, i have not started revising my Social Studies and POA. These two subjects i'm left behind by don't know how much. I'm trying to absorb in as much facts as i can before prelims, especially Social Studies. Don't want to upset Mrs Warrier, or else her indian accent will come crashing down my world.
Speaking of my world, i guess it is not spinning as comfortably as it should be lately. Alot has been in my mind and i'm just trying to shrugged it off. Well, maybe it is not alot but that one thing is weighing down so much till it feels like i'm handling multiple problems at one go. I guess the prescence of someone really does affect my life, even though she is no longer around in my life.

Unintended-Muse
Unintended-MuseYou could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I'll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
First there was the one who challenged
All my dreams and all my balance
She could never be as good as you
You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You should be the one I'll always love
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
Before you

The Boy- "Sure dear, i'll help you"
The Girl- "I always feel good when you are with me"
The Boy-"You're my friend dear"
The Girl- "Are you always gonna be there when i grow up? Are you?"
The Boy- "Cross my heart"

Russell Peters
I just finished watching comedian Russell Peters doing his act on stage for the second time in two days. Tassha send me the video yesterday night. It was hilarious! I especially like his joke regarding the African blackjack dealer name, his father's warning and the chinese shop owner. The rest of his jokes was also funny. I must say, he really is a funny comedian. Probably one of the best i have seen. His looks also made him look funny.
Weekends is alrite. There was some eventful and uneventful happenings. I'm not going to elaborate on it that much. All i've got to say is, everyone has their own shit and mess. Guess i will just have to look on the brightside, no matter how dim my world will be.
Yea like she said, 'it will work out somehow'.

In the eyes of the beholder
"It will work out somehow". That is what she will always say.
I've never actually used that phrase before, but nowadays i have been using it more often. It's just another one of those life values that you have taught me. Oh how i wish things are different. Then life could be something else for me, something unsure yet a fresh sigh of relief at the same time.

Shocking relevation
I was relative shocked that you manage to catch up to me after all these years. I got to admit, i cannot go through another sleepless night as per last night. I was shocked but was also expecting that you will know where to find me. I just didn't expect it to be this soon, and of all years, it has to be this year and at this point of time.
Not to worry, no one will understand the gist of what im writing now. No one except you. I know you are reading this, guess you still are as predictable as you used to be. All this while, while hiding under a shell, you sought me out. And here i am in the open, awaiting your prescence. No longer hiding beneath the shell that is scarred.
