complications about love
Sometimes the things in this world that are hardest to understand are the things that appear to be the most simple. One would think that love would be simple, right? Either you love someone or something, or you don't?
Right?
Wrong. There are different kinds of love and all of them equally complicated. You may one day ask yourself why you love this someone or something, what is it about them or it that you are so attached to, and why would you be so devastated when they were no longer there.
This just pops out while I was reading Nadiah's blog, Sunday January 8th entry. To love or to be loved? She asked a very good question which I'm sure people will have many different answers, it all depends on their own beliefs and opinion.
As for me, when contemplating the question, I realised there is no definite answer. I mean happiness works in many ways, but so does sadness. When we love someone and the love is return, we feel happy. To know that your love is returned as much, if not more is a feeling that's quite indescribable. However, to put so much faith and commitment to a loving relationship, there is bound to be as much sadness as happiness, if not more.
To be loved by someone. Normally, this happens when we failed to get the girl we so desperately love. After a failed attempt to be with the one we love, someone walks by and said that he/she loves you. We might not love her, but her love for you will convince you to accept her. In our hearts, we hope that through her, we will be able to forget the one we love before. Some people will use this phrase, 'Learn to love him/her'. This of course will cause happiness, as you have found someone who loves you more than any other being walking on this earth. Unless of course your soulmate isn't walking, probably crawling or prowling or galloping. However, sadness will still linger in your heart for failing to get the one we so desperately love. To be loved by someone, is sometimes called a mere consolation. A consolation for failing to get the one you love, thus accepting the one that loves you although you may never love her as much as you love the one before.
As you can see, happiness and sadness will always occur in a relationship. There is no way to avoid it. Personally, happiness does not correctly measure the amount of love in a relationship. Sadness is also another form of love. Sadness means we care about the relationship. Sadness means we commit alot to the relationship and we want it to work out. Therefore, love is not complete if it is just happiness.
