Conflicts in a relationship
I guess when we are in a relationship, we try so hard not to be a disappointment to our love ones. We present ourselves the best we can when in their prescence. Unfortunately, under such circumstance, some tend to lie about themselves just so that their girlfriend/boyfriend has a better perception of them. In my opinion, i don't blame the person to lie if he/she really cares about the person.
In such a case, there was this boy who really liked this girl. His affections can be seen even by the naked eye. The girl also liked the boy very much. It can be said that this is one of the rare occurence when teenage couples are really in love with each other. When they embarked on a relationship, I told myself that they can go far. Their love is filled with compassion and sincerity.
The girl, whom by first-look can be judged as innocent. The boy on the other hand, is quite irritating at times, has a few not-so-good-but-not-that-bad-habit. But he is nice, I have known him for 4 years now and I can say that he is a good friend who can crack a joke anytime.
Trouble started when the girl found out about the boy's habit. The boy lied to her that he did not smoke but in actual fact he did. As usual, when people find out that their love ones are lying, they starts to suspect that he might be lying about other things as well. Its a common human nature. Hence, the trust between each other collapses and the relationship becomes shaky.
So i told the girl on what she is going to lose, not only a good friend but someone whom cares about her alot and probably loves her as much as well. I try to make her realise why some people would lie and even though it is never good to lie, he did not lie just to break her heart or harm her in any way. He just did it to win her heart. I know its not a truthful way to win someone's heart, but his actions during the relationship clearly meant that he really loved her and this doesn't go unnoticed from their friends. Anyone that know about them will certainly agree that they are a loving couple.
Thankfully, the conflict is now over. Her last message to me was a Thank You for making her realise the things her boyfriend did and how much he loved her. Suddenly, i remembered a phrase, " You look with your eyes, you see with your heart".
Meaning... Anyone can look at their relationship and say that the boy is wrong because he lied. He only look at his action, but never see his reasons for doing it.
