No indie! It's annoying, really it is...
A summarised version of my day today.
A day's work in tuition...
At any point in our lives, when we try to use an accent which we are very unfamiliar with or rather not trained to speak with, the words that are coming out from our mouth sounds really hard to understand. In my case, a malay trying to speak with an Indian accent. Of all the days my tuition teacher(Cik Mah) had to try out a different accent, she choose today. Not only i can barely understand the words that are coming out from her mouth, it sounds annoying. Still, it was really hilarious hearing the words that are coming out from her mouth. As usual, no matter how lame her joke is, nothing is going to stop her from spilling it out. She's one of a kind i must say. If more teachers were like her, students will probably look forward to go to school more often. Another day with Cik Mah, expect the unexpected from her.
I guess in this world, there are Pros and Cons. I never met a student who is perfect. If the student is stupid, atleast he/she has some common sense. If the student is brilliant and smart, he/she might be clumsy and many other negative things as well. Meet a girl named Aisha. She's intelligent, i will give her credit for that. She is probably the most smartest female student i have ever known. She even scored 10 points for her prelims and is eligible to go to any Junior College in Singapore. However, there is a difference between smart and intelligence. Intelligence refers to a student who is 'textbook'. Anything a teacher asked to study, she will be able to do better than most of us. Smart on the other hand, does not solely rely on textbooks. It also applies in our everyday life decision. Our ability to make logical decision which is both practical and common sense. A smart person does not neccessarily mean genius.
Aisha is intelligent. Smart? Well maybe, probably a tinge of smartness in her. But she is rather clumsy. And that presumption is proven during the Practical Exam. Usually during practical, her friends Warda and Huda will comment on her breaking the test-tubes. Fortunately, that did not happened. However, during one of the Chemistry test, where we need to add a piece of Aluminium Foil into Sodium Hydroxide, she did something which was totally unexpected. After heating the solution and testing for Ammonia Gas, she wanted to check the colour of the Aluminium Foil. Common sense tells us that the Aluminium foil will turn to black when heated but being the diligent girl that she is, she must see it with her own eyes. Hence, she placed a stopper at the mouth of the test-tube and turn it upside-down a few times to check the Aluminium Foil. Suddenly, the stopper drop and together with it, the solution as well. Luckily it did not spill entirely on her answer paper, only a few drops manage to stain her paper.
I laughed my hearts out upon hearing the story. Although i heard the story this morning, i just can't seem to get the image of her trying to find out the colour of the Aluminium Foil, only to have the solution being spilled. Sigh, intelligent she is. However, it will take time for her to develop a bit of common sense. Yet, look past that clumsiness in her, she is indeed one bright girl. Who knows, i'm not surprise if one day she becomes a lawyer. She is a natural at it, although she profusely deny it.
Unknowingly, although this is just a small matter and it has no connection with me, it made me smile a couple of times. Just the thought of her actions and the clumsiness that comes with it...
