Hotel Rwanda
Can't believe movies can have that much affect on a person, let alone me. I just finished watching Hotel Rwanda and it was an emotional, touching story. I'm very move by it, considering the fact that the movie was based on a true story.
The movie took place in 1994, Africa. At that time, there was high tension between two groups of African Races. Tutsi and Hutu. Apparently, these two races despise each other due to past history and the Hutu was president was just about to succeed in bring peace when he was assasinated. Of course the Tutsi was blamed and genocide started. Children, families were all killed.
Basically the story is about Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel owner. He is a Hutu while his wife is a Tutsi. During the genocide, he sheltered about 1200+ refugees from the Hutu militia. The movie showed how the genocide affects his life, the problems he faced trying to save his family and the thousands of Tutsi. Moreover, the movie also reflects the ways of humanity. How we abondoned a poor nation that is in need of help. It kinda got my attention about life. How we are supposed to live it and how to live life to the fullest.
You could say that i learn quite a lot from it, although most of it i can't apply it for now. Hotel Rwanda made me realise the bigger picture in life. Everything that we decide will have an effect on others, be it directly or indirectly. If anyone is in need of help, may it be a matter of life and death or just a small matter, it is good to lend a helping hand.
