Performance at Taman Warisan
My performance yesterday was great! In the end, i was tired but very satisfied. Started off my day by going to school at 8am, Mr Khamis wants to have a practice with the SNO before we leave for Taman Warisan. Supposedly, we plan to play about 4 songs only at first but in the end we decided on playing 6 songs altogether. They were Ladrang Warisan, gambang Suling, Forest Gump, Seksa, Cenderawasih, Romo Ono Maling and Keroncong untuk Ana. The Gamelan Ensemble played our award winning pieces, Ambangan, Giro Tamu and Rampak Ladrang.
From 8am till 12pm, we practiced the various songs. Then it was lunch break till 1.45pm. I managed to sleep for a while cause i was kinda tired from the previous day. We reached Taman Warisan at 3.30pm. Set-up the instrument on-stage and conduct a sound test.
Our first item was the Gamelan Ensemble. I was playing the gendang because only i know how to play my part. First song is Rampak Ladrang. We played reallie well, the audience enjoyed it. 2nd piece was Giro Tamu, by this time there were more audience gathering at the stage area. The seats are full yet many was standing to watch us perform. Our last piece, Ambangan was a blast! It was really good, i think better than our SYF. The crowd was cheering and they especially like our movements. After the gamelan ensemble, there were 3 items then it was the SNO's turn to perform.
For the combined performance, i play my favourite instrument bonang penerus. Hahahx, i like my instrument. Been playing it since sec 2 only to be asked to play the gendang last year during the SNO solo concert. Overall, the performance was very good. The crowd enjoyed it very much, especially for Cenderawasih. Aliff sing quite well, but his voice was kinda coarse. For once his head is not crooked, hahahx. Always call him 'Senget' because of his crooked head when he sings last time.
