Inspirations
Life as we know it, has its ups and downs. Despite the hardships, we persevere and hope to lead a better and more blissful life. People that overcome tremendous hardships in which during that circumstances, there is no hope has become inspirational figures in history.
Such a person is Mahatma Gandhi, the one that bring forth independence to India without the use of any weapons. Mother Teresa, the kind and holy woman that despite her enormous wealth, prefers living without luxury. Her wealth by the way is donated to all charity foundations around the world. These people go through extraordinary hardships to make the world a better place.
In my opinion, inspirational figures need not overcome hardships for the good of mankind. People who overcome plight such as sickness or problems of their own can also be considered an inspiration. My fellow friends and people whom i do not know of, today i present to you.. Patrick Deuel.

Patrick Deuel
Patrick Deuel, from Nebraska lost 573 pounds in a year. His weight a year ago was 1072 pounds, that's atleast half a ton. When doctors and paramedics arrived at his home when he complain of heart pains, they had to cut his bedroom wall to extract him from his home and an ambulance with extra-wide doors and a ramp-and-winch system that had to be dispatched from Denver.
Why Patrick Deuel is an inspiration, well its because he managed to lose that many pounds without using slimming pills. I mean, this is a guy who had to lose weight or else he might die. Yet today, there are men and women who take slimming pills although they are not that fat. Worse still, slim people also take slimming pills because they fear of getting overweight or ruining their so-called perfect body figure.
In Singapore, the most famous case of slimming pills gone bad is Andrea De Cruz. On a plus note, atleast she was saved by her husband. Yet, the true facts remain, she wasn't even fat to begin with. Truth be told, we are now living in a cosmopolitan city.
Vain, image, looks and misconceptions is a common flaw in our society yet we all realise but never do anything about it. It's like we have accepted it as part of our lifestyle. People nowadays fear what people might think about them. It's what i call 'insecurities'.
